Black Hills State University is hosting the 19th Annual Gold Dust Yellow Jacket Golf Tournament Saturday, June 27 at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club in Spearfish. Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used for scholarships for student-athletes at Black Hills State University.
Registration and a putting contest will be held at 7:30 a.m. at the country club, the $250,000 Gold Dust Shoot-out begins at 8:30 a.m., and the 18-Hole Scramble with a Shotgun Start (rain or shine) begins at 9 a.m. The awards ceremony and social will be at 1 p.m.
The entry fee is $100 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, use of a cart, and a chance to participate in the Gold $250,000 Dust Shoot-Out! Numerous hole prizes and team awards for multiple divisions including men’s, women’s, mixed and senior divisions will be given out. The tournament is limited to the first 144 golfers to register.
Following the golf tournament, the Gold Dust Yellow Jacket Auction will be held Saturday, June 27 at the Donald E. Young Center with the doors opening at 5 p.m., the auction beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is free for golfers and $10 for non-golfers. Appetizers and beverages will be served. The auction features a wide variety of items including gift certificates to local restaurants, a digital camera, a barbeque for 20 with the BHSU tailgate trailer and certificates for golf at various venues through the region.
