Black Hills State University’s Bookstore was recently featured in an issue of Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties.

The BHSU Bookstore was featured on the cover of Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties March 2009 issue. Shown on the cover are sales associate, Corin Humbracht and Jenna Deutscher, a junior elementary education major from Rapid City. The article focuses on the importance of apparel in BHSU’s Bookstore as well as other college bookstores across the country. College bookstores are reporting record profits despite the tough economic times. Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties is a publication that serves tourism and resort gift and apparel stores.

Students as well as visitors and tourists shop at the bookstore. “Students don’t go to the bookstore just to purchase books, but they also like to check out the fun, new products the store has to offer. The bookstore has also become a great destination for visitors and tourists to purchase gifts and souvenirs.”

Mike Jastorff, BHSU Bookstore manager, is quoted in the in the article noting that, “athletic wear is extremely important for us…and we are doing pretty well despite some tough times in the economy.”
