Black Hills State University recently hosted a Future Teacher Academy for high school students to explore the education career field. The Future Teacher Academy was one of three offered this year across the nation. Kathleen Engle, a BHSU graduate who was inducted into the National Teacher Hall of Fame last year, told attendees that “the most noble profession needs their energy and enthusiasm to actively create the future.” Participants viewed the Teacher Learning Center at West Elementary to see how BHSU education students utilize the site in their classes. Other sessions included using music to make classrooms unforgettable and using technology in the classroom.
