A new program to recognize faculty and staff who go out of their way to make a difference in the lives of our students has been initiated on the Black Hills State University campus.
Gold "You Make a Difference" coins are circulating throughout the campus to recognize the exemplary performance of our faculty and staff. When staff members receive a coin they are asked to “pay it forward” and present the coin to someone else on campus. Employees are also asked to make a note of the recipient’s exceptional service on this web page www.BHSU.edu/coins. Visit the page to see who is being recognized for their exceptional service and track where the coins are.
According to Nancy Grassel, director of human resources at BHSU, the “You Make a Difference” coin program was initiated to provide recognition to employees on a regular basis.
“In addition to being informal, this is a fun, spontaneous way to show employees that BHSU appreciates and encourages a positive, collaborative work environment,” Grassel says. “In addition, in these challenging economic times, we need to recognize that we’re in this together.”
