The Career Center at Black Hills State University has undergone some recent changes. Arlene Holmes had been made the Career Center director. Holmes previously served three years as career counselor and internship coordinator with the Career Center.

In July Sara Elias joined the department as the new career counselor/ internship coordinator.  Elias, 2005 alumnae of Black Hills State University received her bachelor of science from BHSU and was actively involved in the Center for Academic Success on campus.  She completed her master of science degree in 2008, with an emphasis in student affairs administration.

“Sara brings a passion for higher education and a commitment to professional development to the Career Center.” Holmes said, “Her creative ideas and energy have already proven invaluable to the department’s growth.”

Eileen Thomas continues as senior secretary of the center.  Her 16+ years of service to BHSU and her involvement in the Career Service Act Council contribute to the Career Center’s smooth operation and successful events.
