Over the past two weeks the Lady Yellow Jackets have went 4-4 in conference play.  All eight games have been played at Minot State University.  “We have had really strong pitching performances and great all around defensive play in our four wins over the last two weeks.  In our four losses we have struggled offensively” said Coach Gurney.

The Lady Yellow Jackets have been led by senior shortstop captain Kim Flaman who has recently been moved up to the lead-off hitter and has batted over .400 the past two weeks in her new spot. She has also been very consistent taking control of the defense in the infield. The Lady Yellow Jackets have also been led by five freshmen as they have moved into starting roles over the past two weeks.  They have contributed both at the plate and in the field.  Those freshmen are Jordan Crockett, Krista Gleiforst, Ashley Berg, Autumn Berg, and Heidi Kwilinski.

The Lady Yellow Jackets will return home this week to face Nationally Ranked Dickinson State University on Wednesday, April 16th.  The last time these two teams met both games were separated by only three runs. On Thursday, the Lady Yellow Jackets will host Division II Chadron State College.  Game times for Wednesday and Thursday will be at 3pm and 5pm on the Black Hills State University Campus.  This weekend the Lady Yellow Jackets will have host their last home games against Dakota State University.  Saturday’s games the softball team will honor alumni.  Sunday’s games the Lady Yellow Jackets will honor parents of the players.  Game times over the weekend will be 1pm and 3pm on Saturday and 11am and 1pm on Sunday.
