The Black Hills State Lady Yellow Jackets accomplished the first step of their goal on Sunday and won their first round game of the Dakota Athletic Conference Tournament 86-64 against Dickinson State University.  The Jackets started out the game with back to back threes from Brittany Fuhrman.  However, with hot shooting from the Blue Hawks in the first half (55%) they stayed within striking distance only being down 6 going into halftime.

In the second half the Jackets got the inside game going and with some unselfish play (29 assists) got control of the game early in the second half and never looked back gaining a 22 point advantage for the victory.  The Jackets were lead in scoring by Brittany Fuhrman with 17, 15 of those points behind the arc, Lacey Haughian and Snjezana Dojcinovic both with 16, and Katelynn Lamb rounding them off with 11.

The Lady Yellow Jackets take on the Jamestown Jimmies on Wednesday February, 27 at 7:00p.m. MST in the semi-final round of the Dakota Athletic Conference tournament.
