The Lady Yellow Jackets will enter this week tied with Dakota State University for the top spot in the DAC Conference. Last Friday the Yellow Jackets took on the Lady Vikings from Valley City State where they got off to a fast start behind hot shooting and strong inside play. The Lady Jackets took in a twelve point advantage at halftime 35-23. In the second half the Lady Jackets stretched their lead to twenty points. The Lady Yellow Jackets took the game 68-51 to improve to 21-5 on the year. Black Hills State had three women in double figures with senior Lacey Haughian leading the way with 15 points. Junior Alexis Krull had 13 points going 3-3 behind the arc. Freshman Katelynn Lamb added 10 points.

The next night the Lady Jackets took on the Jimmies from Jamestown. Once again the Jackets got off to a fast start increasing their lead to double figures early. They would take in a halftime lead of 39-29. In the second half the Lady Jackets were able to hold off a late run by the Jimmies to take the game 73-66. The Yellow Jackets were led by four players in double figures. Lacey Haughian had 18 points and eight rebounds. Senior Snjezana Dojcinovic had 14 points. Senior Lindsey Buthe and sophomore Brittany Furhman each added 10 points. The Lady Yellow Jackets are now 22-5 going into their last regular season game!

The 22-5 Lady Yellow Jackets will be home this week as they take on rival South Dakota School of Mines. The DAC tournament will start this Sunday with the Lady Yellow Jackets hosting the first round.
