The Yellow Jackets picked up two key victories last weekend against Dickinson State University and Minot State University. On Friday the Yellow Jackets played host to the Blue Hawks from Dickinson, North Dakota.  The Yellow Jackets jumped out early to a 9-2 advantage but Dickinson would respond with a run of their own to come back and tie the game at halftime 23-23. In the second half BHSU came out behind strong shooting from freshman Cain Atkinson knocking down five three pointers in the second half.  The Yellow Jackets built a double figure lead and never looked back as they took the game 61-52. The Yellow Jackets were led by Cain Atkinson with 21 points. Sophomore Parker Emerson added 17 points.

On Saturday the Yellow Jackets again got off to a fast start with hot shooting from the field to take a 17-4 advantage. Minot State would come back on a big run to tie the game at 40 right before the half.  Junior AJ Fodness was able to grab a rebound and a put back layup for the Yellow Jackets to take a 42-40 lead into halftime.  In the second half the game went back and forth. In the final minutes Cain Atkinson hit a three pointer to give the Yellow Jackets a four point advantage. BHSU would eventually take the game 80-75.  The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Will John Johnson with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Cain Atkinson had 14 points and AJ Fodness added 12 points.  Freshman Luke Enos had nine points and 10 rebounds on the evening.

The 11-10 Yellow Jackets will travel this weekend to Minot State and Dickinson State.  They will return home the following weekend.
