Coming off an impressive win last weekend against Jamestown College the Yellow Jackets are looking to build on their momentum. “We put ourselves back in the hunt for a conference title. We have to finish strong. Going into this weekend we know Mayville State is an extremely athletic team that has been a play or two from turning their record around. They are a much better team than their record indicates” said Coach Scott.

Offensively the Comets will run a spread offense with an active quarterback. Their offense is built around a huge offensive line that averages over 300 pounds. They are a well balanced team with the run and pass.

Defensively Mayville is led by three active linebackers. They also returned their defensive backs this year that has given them experience in coverage situations. The Comets defense will show many different looks to make them very unpredictable.

As for the Yellow Jackets, “offensively we have to take care of the football and handle their pressure defense. We need to make fundamental decisions and be aggressive getting off the ball. Defensively we have to find ways to penetrate around their big offensive lineman. Stopping the run and having good coverage will also be a major key to Saturday’s game” added Coach Scott. The Yellow Jackets will look to control the line of scrimmage from the kickoff.

Saturday’s game will start at 1:00pm at Lyle Hare Stadium. This is the final home game of the season and the seniors will be recognized before the game.
