The Yellow Jackets will leave this Friday morning for Jamestown, North Dakota for their showdown on Saturday with #8 Jamestown College who is currently 7-0. “We have to be extremely focused all week and our players have to know what is at stake” said Coach Scott. What is at stake is a chance to stay in the top half of the conference and have a chance at a DAC title. Currently the Yellow Jackets are 4-3 but 3-1 in conference play coming off of three straight victories.
Offensive the Jimmies like to spread the ball around. They do an excellent job of getting the ball out quickly to their playmakers. “They do a great job of taking what you give them. They have a very versatile offense where their concepts are consistent” added Coach Scott. Jamestown is led by junior quarterback Josh Kittle who won the job this year over a two-year starter.
Defensively Jamestown has a very solid defensive backfield which allows them to be extremely aggressive with their front 7 players. The Jimmies like to mix it up on defense which is extremely hard for their opponents to pick up reads. Their defense has been very consistent at making plays on the ball and causing turnovers.
“We have to be extremely patient on both sides of the ball. It is very important to play all 60 minutes against Jamestown or they will expose any weaknesses. We also have to be sharp in all three phases of the game offensively, defensively, and special teams because the Jimmies are very solid in those three areas” said Coach Scott.
This Saturday’s game will be played at Jamestown College at 1:00PM Central Time.
