BHSU Women’s Golf will enter their 3rd year in competition. The team will look to continue its improvement during the 2007-2008 season. Head Coach Sarah Johnson will once again guide the jackets. Assistant Coach and former BHSU standout Jaime Bentley will begin her coaching career. “We are very fortunate to have Jaime back in our program as an assistant coach. Her knowledge and experience will be a great asset to our team” said Johnson.
“We are looking forward to being very competitive within our conference”, said Johnson. “Everyone on the team has a great attitude and is willing to put the work in to be successful.”
The Jackets bring experience to this year’s team with four seniors leading the way. Seniors Anne Langdell and Shelbi Pool will be the foundation for the team. Top recruit, freshman Tamara Haines is expected to make a solid contribution.
In the 2006-2007season, the Lady Jackets improved to 2nd in the conference standings. This gave the team its first advancement to post-season play. The NAIA regional competition was held in Fargo, ND. “We are looking forward to returning to post-season play in 2007-2008.” – Coach Johnson
The ladies play a split season with tournaments in both the spring and the fall. The only home tournament on this season’s schedule is the Black Hills State Invitational on April 20-21, 2008 at Spearfish Canyon Country Club.
