Preseason rankings were released this past week and Black Hills State men’s and women’s teams are both ranked #1 in Regional competition. On the men’s side, Concordia University and Doane College, both out of Nebraska, followed in the number two and three spots. Trailing the women in preseason rankings are Jamestown College of North Dakota, and Concordia University of Nebraska.

Nationally, the Yellow Jacket women are ranked 4th out of the top 25 in NAIA preseason rankings. Simon Frasier of British Colombia, Canada gathered the highest number of votes followed by Concordia University out of California. On the men’s side, the Yellow Jackets are ranked #6 in the nation in preseason polls with Malone College of Ohio and Aquinas College of Michigan taking the first two positions.

Black Hills State is the only university to qualify both men and women's cross country teams to the NAIA National Championship Meet since 2000!!
