Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men’s and women’s cross country teams are preparing for the NAIA Championship Meet held on Saturday, November 20 in Fort Vancouver, Wash.  The Yellow Jackets received automatic berths to the national meet by winning the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) title on November 5 in Jamestown, N.D.

The Black Hills State women’s team is coming off an impressive performance at the DAC Championship meet.  The women’s team has won the DAC title 10 out of the last 11 years.  The women’s team also moved up two spots to No. 7 in the latest top 25 poll.

On the men’s side, Black Hills State is currently ranked No. 25 after receiving votes in last week’s pole.  The Yellow Jackets captured their ninth team title in the last 11 years by placing five runners in the top 10. 

This will be the 55th annual men’s and 31st annual women’s event at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash., on November, 20.  The women’s 5k race is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PT/ 11:30 a.m. MT, followed by the men’s 8k at 11:45 a.m. PT/ 12:45 p.m. MT.
