Spearfish, S.D. - The Black Hills State University women’s basketball team was ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll released today.
“We are very excited for the season to start,” said head coach Mark Nore. “We have been working hard to fill the holes our three seniors left last year, but we have had a good offseason and are ready to compete.”
The Yellow Jackets have four seniors on the roster for the 2010-2011 season. All-American Katelynn Lamb has averaged 13.5 points per game in her three years with Black Hills State. Other seniors include Janna Schriber, who has been a dominating defender for the Yellow Jackets, Mandy Brumfield and Courtney Johnson.
Black Hills State will tip-off the season Saturday, October 30 at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish as part of the Perkins Tip-Off Classic. The first game will feature the S.D. School of Mines men’s basketball team taking on MSU-Northern at 3:30 p.m. MT. The Yellow Jackets face College of the Ozarks in the second contest with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m. MT. The final game of the evening will see the Black Hills State men’s basketball team will squaring off against Morningside at 7:30 p.m. MT.
