Spearfish, S.D. - The Black Hills State University men’s basketball team was ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll released today.
“It is nice to be ranked. Our kids deserve it,” said head coach Bradd Schafer. “The team has worked hard this offseason. We need to keep working to get better every day if we want to have a successful season.”
The Yellow Jackets will return seven seniors to this season’s squad including two-time Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) player of the year Luke Enos. Seniors Spencer Childress, Cain Atkinson, Clay Pottorff and Will John Johnson have started together for the past three years.
Black Hills State will tip-off the season Friday, October 29 at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish as part of the Perkins Tip-Off Classic. The first game will feature S.D. School of Mines taking on Morningside at 5:30 p.m. MT. The Yellow Jackets face Montana State-Northern in the second contest with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. MT.
