Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University football team is receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll released on Monday.

This is the first appearance in the NAIA Top 25 for the Yellow Jackets this season.  Other Dakota Athletic Conference schools in the Top 25 include Dickinson State at No. 10 and S.D. School of Mines at No. 23.

“We try not to get caught up in rankings as the season goes on,” said head coach Jay Long.  “Rankings are nice for recruiting because kids want to go to a winning program.  For us, the only game that counts is the one we are playing next.”

Black Hills State will face Dakota State on Saturday in the annual Swarm Day game.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. MT.  Kory and the Fireflies will highlight the tailgate that begins at 11 a.m. MT.
