Spearfish, S.D. – Dakota Athletic Conference officials announced today that senior quarterback Drew Hodgs was named Dakota Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week and senior linebacker Forest Sainsbury was named Dakota Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Hodgs threw five touchdown passes in the Yellow Jackets’ 48-17 victory at Mayville State.  He was 15 of 23 for 261 yards and had no interceptions.  Sainsbury had four tackles-for-a-loss including two sacks on Saturday.  He ended the game with seven solo tackles and two assist tackles.

“Both Drew (Hodgs) and Forest (Sainsbury) deserved to win these awards this week,” said head coach Jay Long.  “Drew got our offense going and Forest was a force on defense.”

Black Hills State will return to action on Saturday, October 2 when the team will take on Dakota State.  The annual homecoming game, Swarm Day, will begin at at 1 p.m. MT with the tailgate before the game in the Young Center parking lot at 11 a.m. MT.
