Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State women’s golf team is looking to build on last season when the Yellow Jackets finished second in the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) and had two all-conference student-athletes.

“We are returning experienced student-athletes this season,” said head coach Jaime Bentley.  “We have three incoming freshman this season and with the veteran leadership we have returning we look to compete for a conference title.”

The Yellow Jackets had two student-athletes earn all-conference honors for their efforts last season in Janessa Rantapaa and Brandi Holmes.  Rantapaa and Holmes will join two Katelynn Lamb and Emily Chapman as the veterans on this year’s squad.

The Yellow Jackets have three incoming freshmen; Kaydee Good, McKenzie Watson and Sarah Reichert.  Coach Bentley is looking for these three freshmen to continue building on the success that they had in the high school ranks.

The Black Hills State women’s golf team will take to the course Saturday, September, 11-12 at the Valley City State Invitational at the Maple River Golf Club in Mapleton, N.D.
