Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University softball team signed Regina Thaler, their final recruit for the 2010-2011 season.  Thaler is a 2010 graduate from West Central High School in Hartford, S.D. Thaler is the daughter of Dan and Barb Thaler.

“I’m excited to add Reggie (Thaler) to our team,” said head coach Amy Gurney. “Reggie is the type of ball player who will always expect the most out of herself and her team. She is the type of leader we are looking for behind the plate.”

Thaler, primarily a catcher, was named to the All-State team for four consecutive years and lettered in softball for five years.  She received Team MVP honors for offense and defense in the USSSA World Series and was voted most inspirational.

The Yellow Jackets will participate in the Triple Crown College Classic in Ft. Collins, Colo. starting on September 25.
