Orange City, Iowa – The Black Hills State University volleyball team went 1-1 on the first day of the Red Raider Classic in Orange City, Iowa.  Black Hills State is now 1-6 on the season.

The Yellow Jackets fell in the first match of the day to No. 4 Lee 3-0 with scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-14.  The second match of the day gave Black Hills State its first win of the 2010 season.  The Yellow Jackets knocked off Oklahoma Baptist 3-2.  The scores were 25-20, 28-26, 25-27, 13-25, and 15-13.

“We have been playing better,” said head coach Jennifer Weitzel.  “Getting our first win is big.  We need to build on this for tomorrow’s matches.”

Black Hills State will return to the court on Saturday when the team will face Briar Cliff and Dakota Wesleyan.
