Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University football team was picked to finish third in the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) by the conference football coaches in the poll released by the conference office earlier today.

Last season, Black Hills State finished with a 6-4 overall record and was 5-3 in the DAC.  In the preseason poll, the Yellow Jackets were behind last season’s co-conference champions, Dickinson State and Minot State.

“Our conference will be very challenging this season,” said head coach Jay Long.  “There are a number of schools that could come out on top of the conference.  I think that we are one of those schools.”

Black Hills State will open the season on Aug. 28 at Grand View in Des Moines, Iowa.  Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. CT/12 noon MT.  The game can be heard locally on 980 AM KDSJ or online at www.kdsj980.com.  A webcast of the game is also available by visiting www.b2tv.com.

All-sport season tickets are now on sale for the Yellow Jackets.  Tickets can be purchased by contacting John Kietzmann at (605) 642-6832 or via e-mail at John.Kietzmann@BHSU.edu.
