Spearfish, S.D. –The Black Hills State University volleyball team was picked to finish second in the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) Preseason Poll released by the conference office earlier today.

The Yellow Jackets finished last season 24-12 overall and 11-3 in the DAC.  Black Hills State won the DAC Tournament in each of the past two seasons knocking off Jamestown.  Jamestown was picked first in the 2010 poll with seven first place votes.

“This season will be a challenge for our program after losing so many seniors from a year ago,” said head coach Jennifer Weitzel.  “Our team is ready to face that challenge and is looking forward to competing on the court.”

Black Hills State opens the season Aug. 19 vs. Hope International at a tournament located in Azusa, Calif.

All-sport season tickets are on sale for the Yellow Jackets.  Tickets can be purchased by contacting John Kietzmann at (605) 642-6832 or via e-mail at John.Kietzmann@BHSU.edu.
