Marion, Ind. – Wendy O’Lexey defended her title from a year ago and won the marathon in 2:57:59.01 at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Marion, Ind.  O’Lexey won national title in the marathon in 2009.

Nikki Shinkle ran in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles and placed seventh with a time of 1:02.68.

Breanna Janovy was the only female for the Yellow Jackets to compete in a field event.  Janovy placed ninth in the discus after a toss of 43.92 meters.

On the men’s side, Birch Haraden and Mark Mazza both competed in the marathon.  Haraden placed fourth in a time of 2:34.57.60.  Mazza was 15th in a time of 2:43:24.90.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Cody Bordewyk placed second with a time of 8:59.83 and Jed Morgan finished sixth after posting a time of 9:14.56.

Jason Boeding competed in the shot put on Saturday afternoon.  Boeding put the shot 17.20 meters and finished the event in fourth place.

The women’s team finished the meet tied for 12th place with 27 points and the men’s team finished tied for 11th place with 25 points.
