Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State men’s and women’s track and field teams will send 20 student-athletes to compete at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan on May 27-29 in Marion, Ind.

The Yellow Jackets will have ten women competing in nine different events.  Shannon Hellman will participate in the heptathlon and the 100-meter hurdles.  Nicki Shnkle will run the 100-meter hurdles as well, and the 400-meter hurdles.  Erin Curran will run the 1,500-mter run while Leigh Anne Whiteside and Abi Bever will run the 3,000-meter steeplechase.  Wendy O’Lexey and Katie Cook will both run in the marathon.  In the field events, Lisa Koch will participate in the pole vault.  Cody Milbourn will throw the hammer and put the shot.  Brenna Janovy will take part in the discus throw.

On the men’s side, ten student-athletes will compete in six different events.  Cameron Dean will run in the 400-meter hurdles.  Cody Bordewyk, Jed Morgan and K.C. Fiedler will all run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.  Lane Parish and Neil Long will both run in the 5,000-meters while Birch Haraden and Mark Mazza will each run in the marathon.  Cole Nicholas will participate in the hammer throw.  Jason Boeding is slated to take part in the hammer throw and the shot put.
