Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University softball team won two games in the first day of a double header against the Valley City Vikings.  In the first game the Yellow Jackets defeated the Vikings five to three and in the second game the Jackets outscored their opponent seven to two.

Katie Wagner was the winning pitcher in the first match-up of the day and she gave up seven hits. Krista Glieforst got the Yellow Jackets going with a three run home-run in the bottom of the first inning and the Jackets never looked back. Glieforst finished the contest with one run, two hits and three RBIs.

Senior Karissa Norte took the mound for the second as she pitches six innings. The Jackets once again had a strong start to the contest not giving up a run in the first four innings while they brought seven people home in the same time frame. Katie Wagner was the designated player and she ended her day with two hits and two RBI’s on three plate appearances.

The Yellow Jackets look to complete the series sweep Sunday, April 25, at the Black Hills State University Softball Complex in Spearfish. Game times are slated for 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
