Rapid City, S.D. – The Black Hills State University Yellow Jacket Golf Team kicked off their spring season at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Invitational. They had a solid effort with three golfers finishing in the top 10 after the first day of competition and as a team is currently sitting in third place.

The Jackets are lead by freshman Janessa Rantapaa who shot an 89 on the day and is sitting in third place. Freshman Brandi Holmes is in seventh place, she shot a 93 during the first round of competition. Rounding out the top ten is sophomore Katelynn Lamb who shot a 96.

The Yellow Jackets will continue comptetion on Monday, April 12 in Rapid City to finish the School of Mines Invitational.
