Spearfish, S.D. – Black Hills State Head Volleyball Coach Jhett Albers announced the 2010 volleyball schedule today.  The Yellow Jackets start the season on the road for 14 consecutive dates before opening up the season at home on Oct. 1.

“We have put together a very challenging schedule this season,” said Albers.  “We will be traveling to a number of tournaments before beginning conference matches.  This young team will be challenged and I am looking for them to gain experience and improve so we are playing well by the time we start the conference season.”

The Yellow Jackets finished the 2009 season 24-12 overall and 11-3 in the Dakota Athletic Conference.  Black Hills State qualified for its second consecutive trip to the NAIA National Tournament.  The Yellow Jackets lost in the opening round of the tournament to Doane.  Black Hills State lost five members from the 2009 squad including NAIA All-American Kristen Engle.
