Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University golf team finished its fall season and looks to continue improving into the spring season. The Jackets finished the fall season in second place of the Dakota Athletic Conference with 13 team points trailing Minot State by only three points. Individually the Jackets have two golfers who are in the top 10 in the conference.

“Looking back, I think the fall season went really well,” said head women’s golf coach Jamie Bentley.  “We gained a lot of experience with three freshmen.  Our win at the Jamestown tournament was a step in the right direction and we are looking forward to building on that this spring.”

Black Hills State has a very young team with two sophomores and three freshmen on the roster. The Jackets were led by freshman Brandi Holmes who is currently second in the DAC with 77.5 points, trailing first place by only five points.  Sophomore Katelynn Lamb is currently in sixth place with 56 points.

The Yellow Jackets will return to action on April 11-12 at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Invitational in Rapid City, S.D.
