February 5-6, Lincoln, NE, Four members of the Black Hills State University track team competed in the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational. Highlights of the meet included a new school record by senior Wendy O’Lexey, Rock Springs, WY in the 5000 meter run. O’Lexey placed second in the prestigious meet with a time of 17:48.33 which was nearly six seconds under the previous record. Sophomores Jed Morgan, Loveland, CO and Laine Parish, Cheyenne, WY (Central) moved into the BHSU All-Time Indoor Top Ten. Morgan’s time of 8:41.77 moved him into seventh on the 3000 meter list while Parish’s time of 15:00.04 moved him into the third position on the 5000 meter list. Both performances met the automatic qualification standard for the NAIA Indoor National Championship Meet coming up next month in Johnson City, TN.
