Friday, February 6th, 2010, Chadron, NE – The Black Hills State University Track and Field team put forth several stellar performances in both the men’s and women’s events of the CSC Twilight Indoor Track Meet.
One the women’s side, Shannon Hellman showed her dominance, breaking the meet record in the 55 meter dash, and breaking the meet and arena record in the 55 meter hurdles for two first place finishes. Andrigna Andric also performed well with her first place worthy run in the 200 meter dash. Mile runner, Abi Bever, also had a blue ribbon performance in the women’s mile run. As for the Yellow Jacket women’s field events, it was Lisa Koch who took home first place in the pole vault event.
On the men’s side, a strong performance in the quarter mile run earned Cameron Dean the first place spot. Dean would also reuse his speed to combine with Drew Nielson, Brock Mickelson, and Josh Wood to snatch victory in the men’s 4 x 400 meter relay. There were also three Yellow Jacket men who placed first in the field events. Branko Djurjicic stole the hearts of the crowd with his high flying high jump performance, Cole Nicholas posted an impressive throw in the men’s weight throw, and Hayden Bales once again showed his supremacy in the men’s pole vault.
Up next for the Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets are the DAC Indoor Championships on February 19th and 20th at the Donald Young Center in Spearfish, SD.
