Black Hills State University Head Football Coach Jay Long announced today that the Yellow Jacket Football program will sign letter of intents for 17 student-athletes on Wednesday, February 3, 2010.  This is the second recruiting class for Long and his coaching staff.  The class is comprised of 13 high school players and 4 transfer students.

“When recruiting athletes to Black Hills State University, the first thing that our coaching staff looks at is a player’s effort level,” said Long.  “If he is an effort guy, he will have success in our program. We feel this group of young men exemplify what Jacket Football is about.  The coaching staff has worked extremely hard to put together this group of student-athletes and we will continue to add more to our recruiting class in the following weeks.”

Overall, the Yellow Jackets will welcome back 63 veterans to the 2010 squad in addition to the 17 student-athletes signed on February 3.  The Yellow Jackets are planning on signing another 15-20 recruits in the coming weeks.
