Black Hills State University basketball reached a great milestone this past year as four players have all reached the 1000 point mark. Junior Cain Atkinson from Evanston, Wyoming went over the 1000 point mark at the NAIA National Tournament in 2008-2009 as a sophomore. He currently has 1390 career points at BHSU with six regular season games left to play. Senior Brittany Fuhrman from Mobridge, South Dakota also reached the 1000 point mark in 2008-2009. Brittany currently holds the All-Time three-point record at BHSU along with having 1231 career points.
In 2009-2010 two other players recently reached the 1000 point mark in junior Luke Enos from Faith, South Dakota and junior Katelynn Lamb from Onida, South Dakota. Enos currently has 1081 total career points. As a sophomore Luke was named Dakota Athletic Conference Player of the Year, 1st Team All-DAC, and 2nd Team NAIA All-American. Lamb currently has 1024 career points. As a sophomore she was named 1st Team All-DAC and NAIA Honorable Mention All-American. Both teams are both having another great season as they head down the stretch into post season play. The men are currently 15-7 while the women are 17-5.
