The Yellow Jackets traveled this past weekend to Rapid City for the US Bank Classic hosted by South Dakota School of Mines.  BHSU swept both games defeating College of St. Joseph Calumet on Friday 79-53 and Mt. Mercy College on Saturday 66-55.  With the wins the Yellow Jackets improved to 7-2 on the season.

Friday, the Yellow Jackets got off to a great start increasing their lead to double figures going into halftime 40-29.  In the second half the Yellow Jackets continued to build momentum as they outscored College of St. Joseph 39-24 to take the game 79-53.  BHSU held their opponent to under 40% shooting from the field and they forced 22 turnovers to help in the win.  The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Katelynn Lamb with 16 points eight rebounds.  Senior Brittany Fuhrman had 15 points connecting on five three-pointers.  Sophomore Keely Krolikowski added 14 points.

Saturday, the Yellow Jackets got off to a sluggish start trailing by as many as 10 points in the first half to Mt. Mercy College.  BHSU closed the lead to three points going into halftime 24-27.  In the second half, the Yellow Jackets outscored Mt. Mercy 42-28 to take the game 66-55.  The Yellow Jackets were led by Katelynn Lamb with 23 points and eight rebounds.  Keely Krolikowski and sophomore Tiffany Thomas each added 12 points.  Thomas also recorded four steals. 

The Yellow Jackets will be home this Thursday for their DAC Conference opener against rival South Dakota School of Mines.  Game time is set for 5:30 pm in the Donald E. Young Center.
