The Yellow Jacket Cross Country women’s team traveled this past weekend to Vancouver, Washington for the NAIA National Championships. BHSU finished 10th including two top performances by senior Wendy O’Lexey from Rock Springs, Wyoming and freshman Erin Curran from Wahoo, Nebraska.
O’Lexey placed 8th overall with a personal best time of 18:25. Curran also ran a personal best placing 10th overall with a time of 18:28. Other top performers for the Yellow jackets were sophomore Leigh Anne Whiteside from Loveland, Colorado (19:54), senior Katie Cook from Cheyenne, Wyoming (20:24), freshman Abi Bever from Cheyenne, Wyoming (20:27), senior Kayla Ferguson from Eaton, Colorado (20:58), and junior Robyn Rosechandler from Cody, Wyoming (21:09). These top performances helped earn the Yellow Jackets 10th place overall in the Nation. Click below to view the results from this past weekend’s National Championships.
On the men’s side three runners were honored by the NAIA receiving Scholar Athlete awards. Senior Birch Haraden from Billing, Montana, senior Mark Mazza from Spearfish, South Dakota, and junior Neil Long from Fort Collins, Colorado were all 2009 NAIA Scholar Athletes.
