Jamestown, N.D. - The Black Hills State University Volleyball team (24-11) defeated Jamestown College (23-8) 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21) on Saturday evening to earn an NAIA National Tournament Opening Round match against Doane College.

The Yellow Jackets were led in kills by senior middle hitter Kristin Engle who tallied 17 on the night. Engle recorded a stellar hitting percentage of .552 and tallied one solo block and four assisted blocks. Freshman outside hitter Kylee Lamb was second on the team with 10 kills and an impressive .381 hitting percentage.

Head Volleyball Coach Jhett Albers was proud of his team’s determination and confidence going into this match. “I thought that the girls played amazingly well tonight,” said Albers. “It was a total team effort in which each and every player stepped up their play to earn this DAC Championship.”

The Yellow Jackets will travel to face Doane College in Crete, N.E. on Saturday (time to be announced). This rematch from earlier in the season will determine which team will move on to the NAIA National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
