This Friday the Black Hills State cross country teams will compete at the 2009 Dakota Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships. The meet returns to Robbinsdale Park in Rapid City, the site of the third DAC Cross Country Championships held in 2002.

The Yellow Jacket women will start the morning’s action at 11:00 am with a 5k race, with the men’s 8k race to follow at 11:45 am. The top teams in each race qualify for the NAIA National Meet to be held in Vancouver, WA, November 21. The top fifteen individuals in each race earn All-DAC honors. In the latest NAIA Cross Country Coaches’ Poll released on November 4th the women are ranked 18th and the men 14th.

There are six Yellow Jacket runners competing in their final DAC Conference Meet: Katie Cook, Cheyenne, WY (Central), Kayla Ferguson, Eaton, CO, Wendy O’Lexey, Rock Springs, WY, Birch Haraden, Billings, MT (Skyview), Mark Mazza, Cheyenne, WY (Central) and Jeremy Miller, Cheyenne, WY (East)
