“I am very honored and humbled by this award.  It is really a reflection of Black Hills State University and the Athletic Department, from our administration, coaches, support staff, donors and boosters.  They are talented hard working people with a commitment to being the best.  It has been an outstanding year for Yellow Jacket Athletics.  I am proud and feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of it,” said Jhett Albers.

During the just completed academic year, the Yellow Jackets shared the conference championship in volleyball and won outright conference titles in men's and women's cross country, men's basketball, women's indoor and outdoor track and field and women's golf. The Yellow Jackets finished second to Dickinson State for the DAC Commissioner's Cup.
