The Yellow Jackets were led this past weekend with a strong showing by senior Trent Waage from Aberdeen, South Dakota by winning the National Championship in the marathon with a time of 2:28:27.00. Waage's time in the marathon was a new BHSU record. Junior thrower Jason Boeding from Caputa, South Dakota placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 178-00. 

Other strong performances came from senior Lee Deide from Gillette, Wyoming by placing 10th in the pole vault at a height of 15-01.00, freshman Jed Morgan from Loveland, Colorado placed 13th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:34.19, and freshman Laine Parish from Cheyenne, Wyoming placed 14th in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16:09.80.

The Yellow Jackets scored 14 points to put them in 19th place at the NAIA Outdoor National Track & Field Championships.  Azusa Pacific University won the National Championship with a score of 80 points.
