Craig Von Allman has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Black Hills State University beginning in the fall of 2009 as a freshman.
Craig is a two sport athlete at Windsor High School participating in football and basketball. This past fall he was named All-State as a defensive back and on the basketball floor Craig has been a part of one of the most successful 4A programs in Colorado advancing to the Elite Eight this past season. Von Allman was named Colorado 4A Player of the Year and 1st Team All-State this season averaging 21 points and nine rebounds per contest. As a junior Craig was an Honorable Mention All-State Selection. “I’m just relieved and glad to be in one of the best NAIA programs in the nation,” said Von Allman.
“He’s a great leader, on and off the court. I think our kids respond when they see somebody like Craig that gets all the personal accolades, but is still a great team player,” said Windsor High School Head Coach Dustin Duncan.
Craig has also excelled in the classroom and really takes pride in his academics, which will be a great fit with the BHSU basketball family. “Craig is what you call a total package player. Not only does he bring the ability to help our team from a basketball standpoint, but he is a tremendous student and person as well,” said Head Coach Paul Sather.
Von Allman joins Jordan Dolph from Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colorado and Tanner Alder from Lead/Deadwood High School in Lead, South Dakota in the 2009 recruiting class. “Coach Schafer and I feel great about this recruiting class and can’t wait to get the opportunity to work with these tremendous student athletes. We have much to be excited about at Black Hills State University,” added Coach Sather.
