SPEARFISH…It’s Dakota Athletic Conference Championship (DAC) weekend at Black Hills State University as the men’s and women’s basketball teams compete in championship games and the track and field teams are honored at a send-off for the national tournament meet.

Events begin Sunday, March 1 at 1 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Room of the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center with the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Send-off. The Black Hills State women’s team placed first for the fourth consecutive season at the DAC championship on Feb.  22, 2009. The men’s team placed second for the third consecutive year. The teams are now preparing for the 44th Annual NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships March 5-7, at the Memorial Center "Mini Dome" at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tenn.

The men’s basketball DAC Championship playoff game is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Young Center. The Yellow Jackets will take on Minot State University. Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for students. The BHSU Track and Field teams will be officially recognized for their outstanding accomplishments during half-time of the game.

The women’s basketball team travels to Dickinson, N.D., for the DAC Championship playoff game. Tip-off time is 4 p.m. There will be a game viewing gathering at the Stadium Sports Grill. The game is available on the B2 network and will also be broadcast on KDSJ Radio 980 AM.
