The Yellow Jackets entered this week tied for first place of the Dakota Athletic Conference with Dickinson State University.  Entering the week the Yellow Jackets were ranked #5 in the NAIA. 

Wednesday, the Yellow Jackets got off to a strong start taking a double figure lead in the first half.  Jamestown was able to close the gap going into halftime to seven 31-24.  In the second half, the Jimmies went on a 10-0 run out of the gate to take the lead 34-31.  The Yellow Jackets battled right back as the lead changed four times in the second half.  Jamestown shot 54% from the field and 67% from behind the arc in the second half as they took the lead for good with under two minutes to play.  The final score was 68-62 in favor of Jamestown College.  BHSU was led by sophomore Katelynn Lamb with 17 points.  Freshman Kristi Ryan added 11 points.  Valley City dropped their game at home against South Dakota School of Mines which locked the Yellow Jackets into the 2nd spot going into the DAC tournament. 

Thursday, BHSU was in another battle with Valley City State who beat the Yellow Jackets at home in the first meeting earlier this season.  In the first half, BHSU connected on seven three pointers to give the Yellow Jackets a one point advantage at halftime 27-26.  In the second half, both teams stayed even going back and forth.  The Yellow Jackets were able to build a six point advantage late in the game as they were able to hold on 64-63.  BHSU was led once again by Katelynn Lamb with 20 points.  Freshman Piggy Pili added 14 points.

The 22-6 Yellow Jackets will now host the #7 seed Dakota State University this Sunday for the first round of the DAC tournament.  Game time will be at 2pm in the Donald E. Young Center.
