The Yellow Jackets finished the first half of conference play this past weekend as they took on Valley City State University and Jamestown College. Entering the weekend the Yellow Jackets were 15-4 and ranked #11 in the NAIA.

Friday, the Yellow Jackets got off to a strong start against Valley City State University holding the Vikings to only 34% from the field.  At halftime BHSU had the advantage 44-32 over the Vikings.  In the second half, the Yellow Jackets increased their lead to 17 points behind a solid performance from sophomore forward Luke Enos who finished the night with 30 points and nine rebounds.  The final score was 90-76 in favor of the Yellow Jackets.  Sophomore Will John Johnson had 15 points and 12 rebounds and sophomore Cain Atkinson added 10 points.

Saturday, BHSU ran into a hot shooting Jamestown College team that shot 71% in the first half.  The Yellow Jackets were still able to gain the advantage going into halftime 37-36.  In the second half, BHSU stretched their lead to double figures but Jamestown wasn’t finished.  Jamestown narrowed the gap to four points late in the second half but some key free throws by Cain Atkinson and sophomore Spencer Childress sealed the victory for the Yellow Jackets 83-76.  Cain Atkinson led the way with 21 points.  Luke Enos had 20 points.  Spencer Childress and sophomore Clay Pottorff each added 10 points.

The 17-4 Yellow Jackets will travel this weekend to Dakota State University and Mayville State University.  Please check the schedule for game times and location.
