The Yellow Jackets traveled to Dickinson State & Minot State this past weekend.  Going into the weekend the Yellow Jackets were 13-2 and ranked 8th in the NAIA.

Friday, the Yellow Jackets got off to a slow start in the first half against the Blue Hawks from Dickinson State.  Sophomore guard Clay Pottorff scored 11 points in the half to keep the Yellow Jackets within three points at halftime 27-24.  In the second half, the Yellow Jackets battled back and forth eventually holding a two point lead with 30 seconds remaining in the contest.  BHSU forced Dickinson to take a tough shot but were unable to get the rebound as they scored to send the game into overtime.  In overtime it was all Dickinson outscoring the Yellow Jackets 15-8 to make the final 71-64.  The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore Luke Enos with 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Clay Pottorff had 13 points, sophomore Will John Johnson and sophomore Cain Atkinson each added 10 points.

Saturday, the Yellow Jackets built a three point lead going into halftime 43-40.  In the second half the game went back and forth coming down to the final minutes.  BHSU trailed 91-87 with one minute remaining when Clay Pottorff connected on a three pointer to make the game 91-90.  The Yellow Jackets sent the Beavers to the foul line with 13 seconds remaining where they missed both free throws which gave the Yellow Jackets the ball.  Sophomore Travis Haney took a three pointer with two seconds remaining and banked it in to give the Yellow Jackets the win 93-91.  BHSU was led by Cain Atkinson with 26 points.  Luke Enos had 21 points, Clay Pottorff and Travis Haney both added 12 points on the evening.

The 14-3 Yellow Jackets will now travel this week to rival South Dakota School of Mines on Thursday night.  Game time will be at 7:30 pm in Rapid City, South Dakota.  Saturday, the Yellow Jackets will be at Chadron State for their last non-conference game of the season.
