The Yellow Jackets finally got on the road due to weather this past Saturday as they traveled to Dakota Wesleyan University and Mount Marty College. Entering the weekend the Yellow Jackets were 2-0.
On Sunday afternoon, the Yellow Jackets battled back and forth with the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers. In the last ten minutes of the first half the Yellow Jackets caught fire and built a 14 point lead going into halftime 34-20. In the second half the Yellow Jackets continued their momentum as they increased their lead to 40-20. The Tigers tried to mount a comeback but fell short as BHSU took the game 52-44 to improve to 3-0 on the season. The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Brittany Fuhrman with 13 points. Freshman Keely Krolikowski added nine points.
On Monday, the Yellow Jackets were in Yankton, South Dakota to take on Mount Marty College. The Lancers got off to a quick start and never looked back taking a double figure lead into halftime. The Yellow Jackets cut their lead to six points early in the second half but the Lancers were too much as they took the game 60-44. The Yellow Jackets were led by Brittany Fuhrman with 10 points.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action this weekend as they will take on Doane College Friday night in Rapid City. The game will be played on the South Dakota Mines campus.
