The Lady Yellow Jackets entered the game last night 15-5 (7-0 DAC) and in first place. Minot State came in 9-10 (4-3 DAC).
The Lady Yellow Jackets got out to an early lead behind strong net play from junior Kristin Engle 12 kills, junior Kayla Haines nine kills , and sophomore Maggie O’Neill with seven kills to take the first game 25-14. In the second game the Beavers bounced back battling back and forth with the Lady Yellow Jackets. BHSU would eventually pull away at the end scoring the final three points to take game two 25-22. In the final game the Lady Yellow Jacket s built a strong lead and won the game 25-14. Junior setter Mandy Brumfield led the way in assists with 32.
“We had a great all around match tonight. It was good to be back at home and continue our momentum in conference play” said Head Coach Jhett Albers.
The 16-5 (8-0) Lady Yellow Jackets will be back in action Saturday afternoon against Dickinson State University who won the conference a year ago. In the first meeting the Lady Yellow Jackets won in Dickinson. Game time will be at 3 PM MST in the Donald Young Center.
