The Yellow Jackets entered this past Saturday’s game with one thing on their mind to stay focused and continue their momentum from the previous weekend in Mayville, North Dakota.  “We had a strong performance on the road in our first conference game.  This game was another tough test and we had to stay focused and build from the previous weekend” said Head Coach John Scott.  The Yellow Jackets entered the game 3-1 (1-0 DAC).

In the first half the Yellow Jackets raced out to a fast 28-0 lead behind sophomore running back Tanner Ehrlich who had 20 carries for 203 yards and one touchdown on the afternoon.  Dakota State would eventually add a touchdown before halftime to make the score at the break 28-7. In the second half Dakota State was the first to strike capping off a drive with a touchdown to make the score 28-14.  The Yellow Jackets would add a safety and a touchdown to make the final 37-14 improving to 4-1 (2-0 DAC).

Defensively senior Tony Dill had a great afternoon has he recorded a number of tackles on defense and special teams.  Trojan running back Andrew Fatten the leading rusher in the Nation had 126 yards and one touchdown on the afternoon.

“It was great to see our kids come out with confidence and get off to a fast start.  We kept our focus throughout the game” added Coach Scott.  The Yellow Jackets had 458 total yards of offense on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets will be at home again this weekend as they take on Valley City State University in Lyle Hare Stadium.  Kickoff will be at 1 PM MST.  If you are unable to attend the game this weekend please view it life on pay per view on the BHSU Athletics Website.
