“We got our first conference game under out belt last weekend and we got off to a good start. The challenge now is to continue the momentum and win at home” said Head Coach John Scott. Dakota State comes in dropping their first conference at home to South Dakota Mines last weekend 30-18. This will be a big weekend for the Trojans as they are looking to come in and get back on track at Lyle Hare Stadium.
Dakota State is a power offensive team that will have an extremely mobile quarterback. The Trojans have the leading rusher in the NAIA through four weeks of play in senior Andrew Fatten. Fatten is averaging 146 yards per game. Defensively the Trojans will bring a lot of pressure similar to what the Yellow Jackets have seen in the teams they have played already this season. “They will look to create some chaos on the defensive side of the ball. Both teams mirror each other in a lot of regards” added Coach Scott.
The key for the Yellow Jackets this weekend will be to control the line of scrimmage. “We have to slow down their running game and allow our offense to get into a rhythm. Last weekend we had a good balance of run and pass and we are looking to put two games back to back of good offense” said Coach Scott.
Game time will be at 1 PM MST in Lyle Hare Stadium on the campus of Black Hills State University. This game will be the 5th Annual Missouri River Shootout that will have a trophy presentation immediately following the game to the winner. Saturday is also Parents Day and all parents will be honored before kickoff on the field. If you are unable to attend the Missouri River Shootout please visit the BHSU Athletics Website to watch the game live through pay per view.
