The Yellow Jackets are looking to duplicate this weekend what they accomplished last weekend against another key opponent. “With are effort and focus last week we were able to sustain a game intensity for the entire 60 minutes which will be key this week against Northwestern Oklahoma State University” said Head Coach John Scott.

Northwestern Oklahoma is a team that is used to winning coming off their conference championship in 2007. The Rangers will come into this weekend returning a total of 14 starters from a year ago. “From top to bottom on their roster the one thing that really stands out is they are very athletic. I don’t think we will see a more athletic team top to bottom than Northwestern Oklahoma the rest of our season” added Coach Scott.

The Yellow Jackets will have to start by containing the Rangers senior Billy Barefield who is a dual quarterback in both his running and passing abilities. Offensively the Jackets will have to handle the pressure defense of the Rangers. “We must take care of the ball and maintain our composure throughout the whole game” said Coach Scott. Special teams has been the focus of the practices so far this week as they will look to tone up from week one. Northwestern Oklahoma will show many looks from their special teams.

The festivities for Saturday’s game will kickoff at 11:30AM with tailgating in the Young Center parking lot which will lead up to game time at 1:00PM MST.
