Coach Jeff Larson has accepted the position as an assistant coach at Black Hills State University affective immediately for the 2008 season. He joins the staff as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach. 

Coach Larson comes to BHSU from Chadron State College where he served as a graduate assistant for the linebackers the past two seasons (2006-2008).  Before entering the college level Coach Larson spent five seasons coaching at the high school level (2001-2006). He had stints at Cheyenne East High School in Wyoming and Layton High School in Utah.

Larson, a native of Aberdeen, South Dakota played at Northern State University (1995-1998) and graduated in 2000. Coach Larson played high school football at Aberdeen Central High School where he earned Honorable Mention All-State and All-Conference honors.

"We are fortunate to have a coach of Jeff's caliber at this stage of the game. He is a South Dakota native and is really excited about this opportunity. I believe we have a good fit for both Black Hills State University and Jacket Football" said Coach Scott. 

Larson and his wife Staci live in Spearfish, South Dakota.
